Woman attacked in Brighton
A woman from Brighton has reported being attacked near Withdean Stadium by two or three men.
Sussex Police said that officers were investigating the attack which took place in Tongdean Lane at about 2pm on Tuesday (13 August).
The 30-year-old woman, who comes from another part of Brighton, was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for shock and bruising.
Police have been carrying out house to house inquiries in the area.
Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: “This is an isolated report and we are making inquiries to establish exactly what has happened and have been asking local people if they saw anything suspicious in the area that afternoon.
“The woman is blonde and was not wearing her shoes when she called a friend in a distressed state from the Tongdean Lane junction with Aldred Avenue area.”
He urged any witnesses or anyone with information to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Descriptions of the men are being compiled.
