Brighton man hunted after jumping bail

A 22-year-old Brighton man is being hunted by Sussex Police after jumping bail.

Aaron Barrett, of Lower Bevendean Avenue, Brighton, was due to be sentenced for assaulting four police officers in Portslade.

The officers were trying to arrest him for breaching the bail conditions imposed on him by a court in relation to a drugs offence and criminal damage.

But Barrett failed to turn up at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday 15 August having been charged on Saturday 27 July.

Detective Constable Richard Valder-Davis said: “We are seeking the help of the public in finding Aaron.

“He can become violent and so I would ask anyone who recognises him and knows where he is not to approach him but to contact us on 999.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or email contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
