King Khan And The Shrines

Feathers and sequins a blur, King Khan And The Shrines possessed the stage like a throwback 60’s carnivalesque parade. With the band totalling eight instrumentalists the sound was intense and aided the overall energetic, carnival tone. During the set King Khan, clad in a sequin tunic and feather headpiece screamed, “Here we love you so, transvestites and transsexuals”, as an introduction to the song ‘I Wanna Be A Girl’; harking back to the inclusive party theme that the night drummed into its core. A fantastic night not just for its decadent atmosphere, but for the quality and essence of the music.
