Victim knocked out in Brighton skateboard robbery

A skateboarder was knocked unconscious and robbed in Preston Park in Brighton.

The 32-year-old victim’s distinct motorised skateboard was stolen along with his rucksack containing his Samsung Galaxy phone and his wallet.

The man was on his skateboard when four men went up to him. One distracted him while another hit him from behind, knocking him unconscious.

Detective Constable Paul Candy, from Brighton CID, said: “Fortunately the victim escaped serious harm and did not require hospital treatment but he sustained a lump and bruise to his head as a result of the attack.

“The skateboard is a Rokit Science Boom Borda 2 with large offroad tyres, similar to the one in the photo that has been released.

The incident happened at about 11pm on Friday (6 September)

Anyone who saw the robbery or knows the whereabouts of the skateboard is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
