Snap shots: This week musician Lloyd Williams
“This is my first gig in the UK performing with the wonderful contemporary folk singer Ellie Ford, who plays guitar and harp. I play banjo and acoustic guitars, with a stomp box on one foot and an organ on the other one to create a huge dynamic sound, it is quite intense and acoustic, and should be very enjoyable for our audience. We are spending a lot of time to make it a great night”
Lloyd Williams, singer with brilliant local group Autumn Red – one of Brighton’s best live acts – launched his much anticipated solo album Time with a concert at St Mary’s church, Kemptown on 6 September (see left). A candle-lit evening with a free glass of wine, it was a memorable start to a classic Brighton autumn of great music.
Lloyd’s album was produced by the legendary John Wood, using ‘old school’ recording and mixing techniques using analogue tape to create a truly authentic and atmospheric sound.
