Comic Boom

Comic Boom has returned from a summer break for a new season of outrageously funny, brand-spanking new stand ups – Hurrah! Tonight’s trusty compère Paul F. Taylor commandeered the comedy-ravenous crowd well but the real victory was for those more musically inclined.

Boom virgin James McDonnell certainly piqued the evening with full-bodied belly laughs by virtue of serenading the audience with songs so funny that health warnings should be mandatory. Headlining musical duo Horse & Louis also hit the high notes, repeatedly, with satisfying perverse precision. And a special mention should also be reserved for non-musical, Icelandic tour de force Sola Ludviksdottir whose sugar-coated, brazen wit marked her out as another one-to-watch. Oh, Boom! Don’t ever leave us again (…and sing me another death metal lullaby).
