The Private Ear and The Public Eye

Essentially two plays linked by similar themes of love, longing and friendship; this is a series of meditations on loyalty and relationships interspersed with comedy turns and social commentary on swinging 60’s London. Not only does it work, mixing humour with pathos, the protagonists excelled and enlivened even further a script that was already ripe with exuberance and poignancy in equal measure. In fact rarely does a play leave this reviewer able to find no fault or weak link in the cast, but this was the case on an opening night that deserved a packed house. Highly recommended.
