Best Of The Fest
This evening of excellence, hosted by the consistently brilliant Charlie Baker, featured a varied and intelligently programmed line-up, from the dry nihilism of Sara Pascoe, with her well-observed musings on relationships and insecurity, to the wonderful absurdity of Piff The Magic Dragon, whose act includes a live chihuahua and deftly probes the boundaries of good taste. Krater stalwart Stephen Grant treated the audience to his dizzying energy, hammering his way through what felt like two whole club sets, before the evening was brought to a superb conclusion by the polished crudity of gravel-voiced legend Mike Wilmot.
