Bridget Christie – A Bic for Her
A show this passionate, angry and political had no rights being so fun. Bridget Christie’s justifiably Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning ‘A Bic for Her’ lacerated sexist racing car drivers, gendered pens and irresponsibly positioned lads mags in the silliest and most effective way possible. Sidelining the props and surrealism of previous years, Christie showed the sold out crowd how openly feminist comedy should be done; never hectoring, always inclusive and, despite her assertion that feminists don’t need a sense of humour, fantastically funny. It had you laughing your head off while questioning your assumptions; what all similar shows should aspire to.
