Hannah Gadsby – Happiness Is A Bedside Table
Hannah Gadsby garnered rave reviews in Edinburgh and was nominated for a Barry award in Melbourne, so along with an eager and packed crowd I was really looking forward to ‘Happiness Is A Bedside Table’. However, while we all smilingly went along with her warm-hearted, gently funny, self-deprecating tales about the lowest points in her life, I was a little disappointed and the lady next to me yawned. Twice. What went wrong? Is Brighton simply no longer interested in women’s jokes about being fat? Nice, but no banana.
