Fire crews carry out rescue from flat in Hove
Fire crews rescued one person from a blaze in a flat in a four-storey building in Hove.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that the call-out came shortly before 3pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 October).
The fire service said: “Four crews from Hove and Preston Circus attended the address in Brunswick Street West.
“There was a fire in one of the flats in the four-storey building.
“One person was rescued and taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.”
Firefighters have also put out a blaze in a four-storey building in Brighton.
Two fire engines from Preston Circus were sent to Queen’s Road after being called out at about 10.30am yesterday.
The fire started in a kitchen in a restaurant below flats.
After it was put out, a fan was used to ventilate the area.
