A West Sussex couple’s house-buying dream is made a reality with Charles Church & the Help To Buy Scheme
A West Sussex couple who have bought their first property on a stunning new Charles Church development in Henfield say it is a dream come true.
Charlotte and Devis Fataj moved into their three bedroom detached property at Bysshop Meadow this summer along with seven-year-old Oliver and a baby on the way. The couple used the Government’s new shared equity scheme Help to Buy that meant they only needed a five per cent deposit.
Charlotte said: “I grew up in Henfield, Devis has his own car valeting business here and we were living in a rented flat in the village. With a baby on the way we really needed more space, and wanted a garden for Oliver to play in.
“We were looking at properties further away, because we didn’t think we would be able to afford a house here. But then we heard about the Help to Buy scheme and so to find out more we called in at Bysshop Meadow. The sales advisors were so friendly and helpful and explained it all to us – it was absolutely the perfect scheme for us.
“We were over the moon to be approved for a mortgage with Help to Buy, and incredibly our mortgage is far less than we would have been paying in rent for the same property!
“Buying our first home has been a dream come true and has proved to be perfect timing! It all moved really quickly which was great for us: we wanted to move before the baby arrived and we did! We completed within a month, and moved in with a month to spare – though actually moving house while eight months pregnant probably wasn’t ideal.
“But we couldn’t be happier and have been telling everyone what a fantastic scheme Help to Buy is – I want everyone to know that this brilliant scheme is more affordable than you think.”
Little Leo arrived at the end of July. Charlotte (29) and Devis (31) have bought a three bedroom, detached Westbourne style property, the perfect family home with downstairs cloakroom, modern fitted kitchen and a spacious living/dining area which has double doors leading into the garden. The first floor has a family bathroom and two good size bedrooms as well as a master bedroom with en-suite and fitted wardrobe.
Linda Humphrey, sales manager for Charles Church South Coast, said: “Help to Buy is a fantastic Government backed shared equity scheme.
“It provides a 20 per cent loan on the term of your mortgage, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years. You only need a five per cent deposit and it is available across the vast majority of our developments.”
