COMEDY: Micky Flanagan – Back In The Game
Brighton loved the show so much, Mr Flanagan brings it back for a return visit
This may seem like deja vu, as it was only five months ago that Micky Flanagan was in town at the same venue with the very same show. Filled with geezerisms, disarmingly likeable and funny, entrenched in ’70s and ’80s memories and as East End as Bow Bells and Ripper walking tours, Flanagan’s show is a delight come back to town.
If you missed it, the Back In The Game show arrived in early May, possibly lost amongst the maelstrom of the Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe shows that monopolised every venue and publicity outlet around. Fortunately it’s back, giving you a second chance to catch the fun. The follow-up to his bestselling DVD and sold out tour Out Out, this latest show builds on its success and popular persona, maintaining a freshness and cheekiness without at any time appearing manufactured.
The Back In The Game DVD is due for release mid November, dressing this real treat of a night out up as reasearch for Christmas present buying. More than likely to be topping the comedy charts amongst the raft of Crimbo releases, stand up comedy is always best experienced live making this likely to be your last chance to catch the show before it’s usurped by next year’s Micky Flanagan DVD in waiting.
Micky Flanagan, Brighton Centre, Wednesday 23 October, 7pm, £23.50
