STAGE: Transgender Seeking…

In this UK premiere, and in association with the Study of Sexual Dissidence at University of Sussex and Pink Fringe, is this one-person show from Australian Sunny Drake.

Jimmy is trying to quit romance so he’ll never get hurt again. Since the break-up, he’s been trying to prove that he’s “Great! Fine! Never been better!” But his secret comforts include watching cheesy old black and white romance films – don’t tell his radical friends.

Transgender Seeking… is an exposing, funny and tender look at queer relationships including run-ins with the polyamory police, online dating mishaps, and how relationship scripts and bigger political systems like policing and prisons affect interpersonal relationships in queer communities (and beyond).

It is a hilarious confession of a queer romance-a-holic.  The show will be followed by a post show discussion with Sunny Drake chaired by Jason Price, Lecturer in Contemporary Theatre and Performance at the University of Sussex. This performance is recommended for ages 15+.
