TEDx returns to Brighton

Brighton hosts its third TEDx event today (Friday 25 October).

The event, an offshoot of TED talks in America, aims to explore what ideas will be worth sharing with future generations.

Fourteen speakers will share their thoughts with a theme of “pass it on” at the Dome in Brighton.

They include former maths teacher and money supply expert Mick Taylor, sex therapist and writer Meg Barker, who lectures in
psychology for the Open University, and architect and Brighton University lecturer Duncan Baker-Brown.

Another speaker, Xue Xinran, is a British-Chinese journalist and broadcaster. She worked as a cleaner when she moved to London in 1997. She has since written the much-praised book The Good Women of China.

The event also has an “ideas lab” outside the conference hall offering attendees and passers-by a chance to engage with a variety of topics.

The talks all last 20 minutes or less and will be available on the internet.
