Brighton couple win their dream wedding

Claire Hughes-King, and her long term partner of 10 years, Vincent, won the wedding of a lifetime after taking part in a nail biting competition organised by the radio station Heart and luxury hotels: The Grand Hotel Eastbourne, Tylney Hall Hotel in Hampshire and Ashdown Park Hotel in East Sussex.

Claire and Vincent, who both live in Brighton, were up against four other couples and had to undertake five mornings of challenges live on air on Heart Breakfast during their path to victory. These included creating a Twitter account to generate as many followers as possible and sourcing inventive and creative items relating to the traditional wedding custom ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.’

Claire and Vincent were one of two couples remaining on the final morning of challenges and were tasked with finding a celebrity to speak live on air during Heart Breakfast hosted by Tom, Nicola and Jack. By managing to secure Ronnie Corbett, Claire and Vincent’s destiny was sealed when listeners voted them the winners.
Speaking on air, an overwhelmed Claire commented: “Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us. We are over the moon.”

The happy couple, whose wedding will take place next winter, now have a choice of hosting their dream wedding at one of the three stunning luxury hotels on offer: The Grand Hotel Eastbourne, Tylney Hall Hotel in Hampshire or Ashdown Park Hotel in East Sussex.

Graeme Bateman, Managing Director of Elite Hotels who own the three luxury retreats, commented: “Congratulations to Claire and Vincent. Elite Hotels is delighted to be able to host the happy couple’s forthcoming wedding and we wish them all the very best for the future.”
