Tributes paid to retiring Brighton and Hove tenant rep

Tributes have been paid to a Brighton and Hove tenant representative Jean Davis who is stepping down.

She represents the Central Area Housing Management Panel, relaying residents’ views to Brighton and Hove City Council.

Councillor Bill Randall, chairman of the council’s Housing Management Consultative Committee, led the tributes to her long and valued service.

Former council leader Councillor Mary Mears also added her thanks.

Meetings would be a little easier, Councillor Garry Peltzer Dunn said, adding: “By goodness, she’s kept us on the straight and narrow for many years.”

Their comments were echoed by a fellow tenant rep John Melson, from the High Rise Action Group.
