Alice In Wonderland
An enjoyable addition to the canon of Alice-influenced shows, five women came together to take us down the rabbit hole in this specially devised performance. Each of them were Alice, each of us were Alice, and the disorientation was palpable as the audience adjusted its expectations accordingly. Memorable chapters from the book were picked up, such as the lobster dance, the Mad Hatter’s tea party and Alice’s encounters with the Cheshire Cat – to which end the versatile staging of hay bales became ingenious. These was glimpses of the wonders and paraphernalia such as Alice saw as she fell endlessly down the hole, and as such held both gems and other not so precious stones. Great showcase performances from the entire cast and a treat for any true Alice fan served up by the audacious Volcano production company.
