The Ripper Files

This play within a play reimagines the brutal and mysterious events of Jack the Ripper’s slaying spree of the late 1900s, and works because of three convincing performances by the cast, and the fascinating (if morbid) subject matter. The geographical descriptions of London a century ago, as well as the graphic accounts of the murder scenes, create an enthralling atmosphere, helped in no small part by the protagonists convincing turns as the multitudinous bit-part players in the story. An unexpectedly chilling climax finished off a fine piece of theatre which will appeal particularly to fans of the macabre.
