Two foreign students robbed in Brighton
Two foreign students were robbed by two men as they walked home in Brighton in the early hours.
The two students, both women aged 22 and 23, were walking home in Park Road, Coldean, when they were confronted by two men.
The men demanded their handbags, containing their wallet, phone, tablet computer, camera and cash, and ran off with them.
The first thief was described as white, in his early twenties, 5ft 9in tall, with a medium or chubby build and a round face. He was wearing a light brown hooded top with the hood up.
The second thief was described as white, in his early twenties and 5ft 6in tall, slim, with a square face and dark blond medium-length hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved coat.
The mugging happened at about 12.30am on Wednesday (6 November).
Detective Sergeant Helen Paine said: “This was a frightening incident for the two victims who have been left understandably shaken by what happened.
“The victims got off a bus in Lewes Road near Coldean Lane and walked into Park Road with a woman they know.
“After the third woman left them, the friends were passed by the thieves who then turned and robbed them.
“I’m keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the three women getting off the bus or walking into Park Road with the two thieves following them or anyone who may have been disturbed by the robbery taking place.
“If you saw or heard anything, no matter how insignificant you might think it is, please contact us.”
