Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Initially a bit shy (!) of performing in Brighton’s mainstream venues, Cave and long-time Bad Seed Barry Adamson both reside here, (and as an aside are both patrons of the forthcoming CineCity film festival), were finally taking to the stage in the glorious Dome, for another masterclass in musical dynamics and creative energy. Cave may be getting closer to pensionable age, but this adopted Brit continues to look and sound like a lean and mean fighting machine, bestriding the stage and holding court for all his worth. Cave and band have always managed to sound clear as a bell, one of the best live acts around, and never do they look like they are going through the motions. Latest album Push The Sky Away is the centrepiece of the show (along with some choice cuts from an incredible back catalogue), demonstrating that the idea of resting on one’s laurels and just churning out the favourites is the furthest thing from their collective minds.
