Boy George

He’s back with a new album and the sardine-tight crowd proved that he’s still got pulling power. Dressed demurely in blazer and slacks, George kicked off with a few new authentic roots reggae songs before dropping a lighters-in-the-air ‘Any Road’ that allowed his soulful voice to soar. Reggae legend Dennis Bovell toasted on ‘Bigger Than War’ and tributes were paid to both Lou Reed and Marc Bolan. The hits all had new clothes with ‘Church Of The Poisoned Mind’ given a Motown makeover. There was Country and Heavy Metal that showed the Boy has grown into a great, if mischievous, all-rounder.
