Portslade man charged with attacking a man in Brighton

A 22-year-old unemployed man from Portslade has appeared in court charged with attacking a man in Brighton.

Jake Moss, of Fishersgate Close, Portslade, has been charged with wounding with intent after a man was attacked in Preston Drove, Brighton, on Sunday 3 November.

He has also been charged with two counts of assault by beating, harassment by putting in fear of violence and theft from a shop, Sussex Police said.

Moss is also accused of dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

The offences were alleged to have taken place in Brighton and Worthing between Tuesday 3 September and Saturday 5 October.

Additionally, he was charged with 11 other offences alleged to have taken place in Brighton on Tuesday 5 February and Thursday 2 May.

These were for having cannabis with intent to supply, two counts of having a stun gun, having a weapon to discharge pepper spray, two counts of acquiring, using or having criminal property, two counts of handling stolen goods, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and driving a stolen car.

He was detained and appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Thursday 14 November) where he was remanded in custody for trial.
