Thieves in onesies rob Hove school boy

Two men wearing onesies robbed a 12-year-old boy on his way home from school in Hove.

The boy was playing on a rope swing by a footpath behind Hangleton Way in Hove when the two men in onesie all-in-one suits approached him from behind.

When the victim turned around to face them, one of the thieves put him in a headlock while the other searched his bag and stole his iPad. They then ran off.

One of the thieves was wearing a white onesie and the other a black one. Both had their hoods pulled up with only their eyes exposed and are thought to have been wearing gloves.

The mugging happened at about 3.30pm on Wednesday (13 November).

Detective Sergeant Maureen Lambert said: “At this stage we don’t know where the thieves came from so it is possible they were waiting in bushes until the victim came past.

“The victim is very upset about what happened and we are determined to catch those involved.

“They were wearing distinctive outfits so residents may remember seeing them together either before or after the robbery.
