Le Flop

This troupe of clowning entertainers were clearly having a ball. The show itself was oddly constructed, with a first half of 30 minutes loosely introducing us to the company at large – each performer showing off their persona and talents – and the second half of 25 minutes following a loose narrative which failed to come to any truly satisfying conclusion. Broadly likeable and quirky, this was an enthusiastic and talented group, let down by an under-rehearsed and loosely sketched format that never truly realised the potential of such a collaboration. With clowning experiencing something of a resurgence of late, hopefully this ensemble will have more to offer next time.
