These friends, who met just two years ago, served up a harmonious slice of Americana and chat to warm up the 60 strong crowd for Ruarri Joseph. The singer/songwriter’s profile has been raised since he last appeared in Brighton; he’s performed at Glastonbury and on BBC2 and yet he remains understated and modest. His heartfelt lyrics and memorable tunes do the talking for him and deserve a wider audience. Mellow sounds from a stage full of authentic, talented musicians made this a relaxed and cosy evening.
