Texas

With utmost respect to the supremely talented band, Texas is really about one woman. For those of who are labouring under the misconception that the Glasgow band is mainly the background soundtrack of mid-nineties dinner parties, seeing them live is a revelation. Sharleen Spiteri is a genuine rock goddess who owns the stage – and the audience – with strut and pout. Working the crowd expertly with the smart move of mixing up the set list – classic / new song / classic / repeat, her voice is honey with a shot of whisky, soaring from rock to something a lot more soulful.
