Brighton road closed after police car crashes
One of the main roads in and out of Brighton has been closed throughout the rush hour after a crash involving a police car this afternoon (Wednesday 27 November).
Ditchling Road has been shut between Fiveways and Grantham Road, almost opposite Upper Hollingdean Road, after a police car and another vehicle crashed shortly before 4.30pm.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines from Preston Circus in Brighton after a report of people being trapped.
At 5.30pm Sussex Police said: “Emergency services are dealing with a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a police car in Ditchling Road, Brighton, today.
“The road is currently closed southbound at Fiveways with Ditchling Road and northbound at Grantham Road.
“There is no information on injuries as emergency services are still at the scene.
“Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.”
