The Stylistics & The Real Thing
The South Coast’s soul boys and disco dollies were well served at this double bill of seventies legends. The Scouse rare-groovers bounced around like teenagers as they ran through an hour of hits that warmed the crowd up perfectly. The fact that only two original Stylistics remained in their line-up mattered not as they walked out in matching red suits and displayed precision dance moves. The falsetto Philly classics’ luscious harmonies were like a warm blanket and you’ve got to love a band that introduces themselves by name and star sign. A triumphant night from two groups with much to still offer.
