Dutch Uncles

“Math pop” – it’s a curiously-named genre but gets right to the heart of what the style is all about. Tricksy, atypical time signatures abound and yet again, the North of England is the crucible (what is it with the North and music pioneers?)  Dutch Uncles are particularly joyous exponents, giving free reign to their inner nerds and quite literally in the case of lead singer, Duncan Wallis’ captivating dance moves. This Komedia gig was jerky, jaunty and divinely jarring and ably supported by the wonderfully wonky tones of Liverpool band, Outfit. If only Maths at school had been this engaging!
