Woman sexually assaulted in Brighton
A 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the street after a night out in Brighton.
The victim was walking home when a man approached her in Middle Street at about 2.15am on Saturday (21 December).
The man walked with the woman to Queen’s Road but then sexually assaulted her at the entrance to Brighthelm Gardens.
The attacker was described as white, 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in tall, of average build and 30 to 40 years old. He had sandy short hair, stubble and a southern accent. He was wearing a dark waist-length jacket.
Detective Sergeant Duncan Elliott, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: “The victim is understandably very upset about what happened.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and could have seen or heard anything.
“Please contact us if you have any information at all.”
