Five more Brighton and Hove drink drive arrests

Five more people from Brighton and Hove have been charged with drink driving or related offences in Brighton and Hove.

They bring the total number of arrests in Brighton and Hove or of people from Brighton and Hove to 18 since Sussex Police started its annual Christmas crackdown.

The force said that those charged were

  • Sadie Bradford, 22, who was arrested last Wednesday (18 December) after officers were called to Orchard Road in Hove. Bradford, of Orchard Road, Hove, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16 January.
  • Mark Bott, 29, who was arrested at 4.35pm last Wednesday in a car park in Hove. Bott, of Orchard Road, Hove, was charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16 January.
  • Michael Griffin, 49, who was arrested at 1.20am on Friday (21 December) after officers saw a car being driven erratically in Hove. Griffin, of Westbourne Villas, Hove, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16 January.
  • John Mills, 48, who was arrested at 9.40pm on Friday after his car was stopped at a police check in Falmer Road, Rottingdean. Mills, of Bexhill Road, Woodingdean, was charged with drink driving and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16 January.
  • Carlo Boersma, 36, who was arrested after a crash in Hove. Boersma, of Rutland Road, Hove, was charged with drink driving and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 January.

Sussex Police said: “You can text officers on 65999 with the details of people you suspect of drink or drug driving, along with their car make and registration number.

“To report anyone driving antisocially visit www.operationcrackdown.co.uk. If you know someone is driving after drinking or taking drugs call 999.”
