Hove women jailed for three years for sex trafficking
A woman who lived in Hove was jailed for three years for her part in a sex trafficking ring today (Wednesday 8 January).
Victoria Brown, 25, formerly of Holland Road, Hove, and four Hungarian men were sentenced for people smuggling and running a prostitution racket.
Brown, of Bognor, was sent to prison along with her boyfriend Mate Puskas, of Croydon, who was jailed for six years by Judge Richard Hayward at Hove Crown Court.
Zoltan Mohacsi, from Ilford, was jailed for four years, Istvan Toth, 34, from Eastbourne, for five years, and Peter Toth, 28, also from Eastbourne, for four years.
The Toth brothers were also given a nine-month sentence in their absence after being convicted for contempt of court for jumping bail.
They all denied trafficking dozens of young women into Britain and putting them to work in brothels.
The trial, which started in October, was told that the gang even ran a brothel from a student flat in the Sussex University campus in Falmer.
