Local Children’s Charity Bowled Over With Support From Sussex Cricketer

Rockinghorse Children’s Charity will be supported by cricketer Michael Yardy during his Benefit Year 2014.

The Sussex County Cricket Club all-rounder Michael Yard marks his 15th anniversary this year since making his debut for the county and has chosen to support the local children’s charity by holding a number of events throughout the year.

Based in Brighton, Rockinghorse is the official fundriasing arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) and a vital supporter of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU).
The charity raises money for life-saving and cutting-edge medical equipment, whilst ensuring that children are treated in an environment better suited to their needs.

Speaking of his support, Michael Yardy, said:
“I’m delighted to be supporting Rockinghorse Children’s Charity throughout my Benefit year. As a Father of three young children, I know how important the work Rockinghorse provides in supporting the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital – my eldest son had two minor operations at the Alex and the facilities are brilliant and staff were fantastic with him.”
He also expressed his hope for raising more funds throughout the year.

Rockinghorse CEO, Ryan Heal, added:
“We are incredibly excited by the events planned by Michael and his testimonial committee for across the year and look forward to helpling him achieve his goals for his chosen charities and his benefit year in general.”
