Family Funktunes celebrate their 13th birthday with a Radio Reverb fundraiser

Legendary Brighton DJ collective Family Funktunes celebrate their 13th birthday at The Latest Musicbar on Saturday 1st February, fundraising for Radio Reverb.

Dan Tester and Si Collins (Dante and Delv) first deejayeded together playing the music they love – funk, soul, disco, Northern Soul, hip-hop and breaks – at The Cocoanut, Kingston-upon-Thames in 2001.

Since then, the boys have played over 200 gigs at pubs, clubs, festivals – Beachdown and Psyclik – 30th, 40th and 50th birthdays and weddings and ran a hugely successful club night at the sadly-no-longer Sussex Arts Club.

On 1st February, Dan and Si will be joined by a host of local talent including the funktastic and Latin-infused six-piece MauvePeople, folk duo yourgardenday, and soloist Ian Roland, accompanied by the Bem Bom Brothers DJs and Katie B.

It’s all for a great cause, supporting Brighton’s essential community resource, Radio Reverb.

Family Funktunes Radio Reverb Fundraiser, Saturday 1 February 2014, Latest Musicbar, Manchester Street, Brighton, 9pm, £5.
