Peacehaven man charged with drink driving

A 48-year-old man from Peacehaven has been charged with drink driving as part of the annual Christmas crackdown by Sussex Police.

Albert Dimas was arrested at 4.15pm on Sunday 8 December when officers found his car next to a damaged fence at South Coast Road in Telscombe.

Dimas, of South Coast Road, Peacehaven, was charged with drink-driving and criminal damage and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 20 February.

The force said that 127 people had been charged with drink or drug-related driving offences as part of the annual campaign.

Of those, more than 30 are from the Brighton and Hove area or were arrested in Brighton and Hove.

A further 35 motorists across the county are still on bail.
