Jump ‘n’ jivin’ in Brighton with the Dame Vera Lynn Trust


Valentine’s Day will soon be upon us, and if you’re wondering what to buy your loved one, a ticket to the Swingtime Ball gala event on Sunday 1st March makes the perfect gift. You and your partner can re-live the style, glamour and romance of the great swing era, with an evening of Big Band swing, cabaret, vintage style and dancing until the early hours at one of Brighton’s most famous venues, the Grand Hotel. This gala event being held by The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy is an evening not to be missed.

Tickets cost just £85, which includes a drinks reception, three-course meal and fabulous entertainment. Plus you will have the chance to win some fantastic raffle and auction prizes. The evening will start at 6.30pm
and finish at 1am.

Joining them for the special evening will be:
• Magic by David Stewart
• Music by the unique Swingtime Sweethearts, a duet act with a range of hit songs from the 1940s
• A tribute to the Broadway musical Swing performed by theatre song and dance troupe, West End kids
• Dance performances from the Brighton Lindy Hoppers and jive dancers Barry Randall and
Siobhan Regan
• Music by The Regular Joes, an
11-piece Swing and Jive band specialising in the dance music
of that jumpin’, jivin’ era
• The evening will end with DJ Alex Ansell playing music from all the eras so everyone can dance the night away.

The charity
The Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy is a charity that supports young children under five who have motor learning disorders. The Trust runs a school for the children to attend (free of charge) which also provides strong practical support for all parents who have children with special needs within a mutually sympathetic and encouraging environment. The Dame Vera Lynn Trust receives no statutory funding and rely entirely on the support of donations to raise the £650,000 they need each year.
