Fire crews make hotel’s roof safe after wind loosens metal caps

Fire crews were called to a hotel by Brighton Station to deal with loose metal caps in the high winds yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 5 February).

Crews from Preston Circus, Brighton, and the aerial ladder platform were sent to the Jury’s Inn in Stroudley Road, Brighton, shortly before 1pm.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that half an hour later firefighters from Preston Circus dealt with a similar incident just yards from the first one at Bellerby’s College.

Just before 1.30pm, the fire service said, “Crews from Preston Circus responded to loose roofing materials at the Brighton Study Centre, Billinton Way. Crews made it safe.”
