New Start Time for Brighton Marathon

The Brighton Marathon will start this year at the new time of 9.15am instead of 9am.

The change in the timetable has been brought about by the inclusion of a new event, the BM10k, which starts at 8.30am.

The extra 15 minutes gives organisers more time to prepare the start line in Preston Park and early miles of the route for the mass race.
The Brighton Marathon and the BM10k take place on Sunday 6 April.
The BM10k is a fast flat course which follows the first four miles of the Marathon route through the city before finishing on Madeira Drive.
Good club runners will cover the 10k in 30mins or less and it is expected that many will take the opportunity to set personal bests.
The Brighton Marathon weekend begins on Friday 4 April with the two-day Exhibition in the Brighton Centre.

Saturday sees the ICONIQ Shlurp! Mini Mile Races in their new slot in Preston Park (First race 11.00am) and the weekend culminates on Sunday with the Marathon’s male and female winners expected in Madeira Drive at 11.25am and 11.45am respectively.
