Brighton man charged with drink driving

Another man from Brighton has been charged with drink driving as a result of the annual Christmas crackdown by Sussex Police.

Antony Machacek, 54, is one of 138 people to have been charged after being arrested during the latest campaign.

Machacek, of Norfolk Road, Brighton, was arrested at 5.30pm on Sunday 15 December after his car was found abandoned on the A27 at Lewes.

He was charged with drink driving and released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 13 March.

Sussex Police said: “You can text officers on 65999 with the details of people you suspect of drink or drug driving, along with their car make and registration number.

“To report anyone driving antisocially visit www.operationcrackdown.co.uk.

“If you know someone is driving after drinking or taking drugs call 999.”
