Is Brighton & Hove’s Mystery EuroMillions Ticket-holder a Model Winner?

It was a case of art imitating real life today (Friday 21 February) at the opening of Brighton Model World 2014 where a diorama depicted the latest search for the Brighton and Hove ticket-holder of an unclaimed EuroMillions prize of £577,348.50

The winning ticket, bought in Brighton & Hove, matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number from the EuroMillions draw on Friday 17 January 2014.

The 1/12 scale model depicts the entrance to Brighton Pier with a crowd of Brightonians checking their EuroMillions tickets while one lucky couple hold the ‘mystery winner’ giant cheque, and a paperboy for The Argus shares the news about the unclaimed ticket.

The team of six from Merstham Dolls House Club near Redhill who worked on the unique commission are hopeful that there miniature display will pack a mighty punch and help unite the EuroMillion ticket-holder with their life-changing prize.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “This is the first time we have ‘scaled down’ our search for the ticket-holder of an unclaimed prize but with crowds descending on the Brighton Centre for Model World 2014 this weekend, we are hoping that 1/12 will be just the right size of search to find the lucky ticket-holder.

The ticket was bought for the draw on Friday 17 January when Brighton and Hove was contending with Met Office weather warnings and flooding so maybe the missing ticket is still being dried out or sitting, soggily, in the pocket of the lucky ticket-holder’s raincoat.

“With £577,348.50 just waiting to be claimed, we urge everyone to check and double-check that they are not holding the ticket to a life-changing prize.”

The winning EuroMillions numbers on that date were 19, 26, 32, 33, 42 and the Lucky Star numbers were 4 and 10. The lucky ticket-holder has until Wednesday 16 July 2014 to make their claim. 1*
