City College Brighton and Hove to hit the big screen
Filmmakers hope City College Brighton and Hove can help them deliver a knockout production.
The boxing gym at the further education establishment was recently transformed into a movie set as director and former City College filmmaking student Max Goldini used it as a location for the forthcoming feature film, ‘64 Days’.
The movie is based on the true story of British boxer Randolph Turpin, who was world middleweight champion for two months in the 1950s after unexpectedly beating the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson.
Two City College BTEC Level 3 filmmaking students gained a week of invaluable industry experience during the shoot, working alongside students from Brighton Film School.
Filmmaking tutor Sam Catling said: “Working on this project with Brighton Film School gave our students a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a real-life movie shoot.
“’64 Days’ looks like a really exciting project and it’s great that they’ll be able to mention their involvement in it on their CVs.”
