Flasher on train from Brighton given suspended sentence
A flasher exposed himself to a woman on a Brighton to London Victoria train last Friday lunchtime (28 February).
Marcin Tedorowicz, 36, carried out what a Crown Prosecution Service lawyer described as an indecent act on the train.
Tedorowicz, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to exposure when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court the next day (Saturday 1 March).
He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years and given a four-week prison sentence suspended for a year.
The court was told that Tedorowicz sat next to a 38-year-old woman from East Sussex before exposing himself and carrying out an indecent act.
The woman confronted him and used her mobile phone to take a photo of him which she gave to British Transport Police (BTP) officers.
Two passengers identified Tedorowicz at Victoria Station and he was immediately arrested.
After the case the investigating officer Detective Constable Andrew Parkinson said: “I’d firstly like to commend the victim and the witnesses involved for assisting officers during the investigation which was vital to securing the swift conviction of Marcin Tedorowicz.
“If someone has made you feel uncomfortable on your journey – however minor it may seem to you – reporting it to police can help us target the perpetrator and prevent it happening to another passenger.”
