Review: Lissie
If anyone can make sweating look seductive, Lissie can! Bringing the sultry, Californian canyon heat to Concorde 2, she and her tight-as band romped through an exhilarating setlist of tracks old and new, raucous and more reflective. It was a night of chops, as Eric Sullivan showed his outstanding prowess as lead guitarist (a spot of tapping? Go right ahead!) and as Lissie delivered vocals that have gained discernible strength and flexibility since her promising early days on the circuit. Yes, Lissie is nicking from the almighty (Stevie) Nicks, but she wields her guitar like a guy and if that’s how you like your girls, then Lissie’s your man!
