Hundreds complete Brighton Sport Relief Mile

Hundreds of locals took part in the annual Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile at Madeira Drive on Sunday.
Super sprinters to willing walkers joined the fun run and completed either one, three or six miles for Sport Relief.
Runners signed up prior to the event and got generous friends to donate money, which will transform lives of people in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.

David Samuel Associates, the event organiser, said: “This is the third time the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile has come to our city and we showed the rest of the country what we can do today.”
There was also a Land Paddling exhibition race, which saw people from all over the country take part, before the main race.
Henry the mechanical horse simulator also made an appearance on the ‘Parade of Possibilities’: a collection of stalls showcasing their individual sports, from bowls and boxing to hockey and horse riding.
Hoof, funded by the British Equestrian Federation’s Olympic and Paralympic programme, is looking to increase participation in horse sports and was one of the most popular attractions.
Henry offered people their first experience of riding in a safe environment at different paces; walk, trot, or canter.
Latest also spotted a regular guest at many Brighton events.
‘Disco Pete’, as he is known to many across the city, was raising money for Sport Relief by busting some iconic dance moves during his lap.
