Arthur Smith: At Your Service
Like a BBC Radio 4 one-man roadshow, Arthur Smith rolled into Shoreham to take court and entertain with a witty combination of old jokes, engaging stories, Leonard Cohen tunes and thought-provoking poems. Playing to his home crowd, Smith teetered on the self-indulgent but with an audience that loved him kept himself on the right side of star ranconteur. With a peppering of the bawdy and a fond smile, as well as a highly enjoyable opening showing a glimpse of his recent London show as a Cohen impersonator, this was fun night out for all.
