Enjoy a touch of luxury from Kingdom Spas

splash out!

There’s a distinct sense of a champagne lifestyle attached to the idea of having a hot tub at home. They immediately conjure up images of Hollywood, football stars and luxury spas – and with that comes the impression that to have that lifestyle you have to have a matching income. That was what we thought here at Latest Homes when we went out to meet the team behind Kingdom Spas in West Sussex.

Kingdom Spas are based at a large garden centre a few miles north of Worthing. It’s a small company run by three men who are dedicated to spreading the word that hot tubs are… well, hot!

Quality first
Kingdom Spas specialise in the import of very high quality spas that they guarantee are built using materials and components produced in Canada and the USA with no elements coming from budget manufacturers from anywhere else in the world. The product is Coast and Kingdom Spas are the only supplier here in the South East. All of their products carry ISO certification. The moulded tubs are made out of a material that is outstandingly durable and far heavier and better engineered than any of the others that we have seen.

Our immediate impression is one of quality and style. These spas are stylish and sleek and they can come with an almost infinite number of luxury add-ons, from integreated LED lighting and sound to audio visual facilities and hands free telephone ports. Most striking is the scale of the tubs, far deeper than ones we have seen previously and with the added dynamic of having an infinity style front edge. It’s an impressive feature, and very seductive.

Make it real
But all of this is the sexy stuff that may seem like the thing of dreams. What is the reality? Is a hot tub affordable? Is a hot tub economical, easy to run, safe, suitable for the whole family… ?

“That splash of luxury need not be a pipe dream but a totally acheivable reality”

The cost of luxury
All of these questions are ones that Kingdom Spas are happy to address. Firstly a quality spa need not cost a fortune and Kingdom even have a slection of reconditioned spas that come with guarantees. Of course at the very top end you can spend a lot of money – but the answer is that you need not.

When it comes to running costs they are keen to say that if used properly, covered when not in use and kept in good order, a spa does not cost a fortune to run. Some clients even choose to install solar panels to heat their tub and this really does, across several years, offer a very economical solution. The spas come fitted with an insulating cover, built to a high specification with a stronger metal frame than many comparative products and for an extra £150 you can add a clever lifting device that makes raising the cover both simple and light. They also sell sets of steps for tubs that are installed above ground level and these too are £150.

Spas are fairly easy to maintain and Kingdom Spas will also offer a very comprehensive and competitive ongoing maintenance service at every level, from weekly care package to an annual service package created to suit any client’s requirements.

So are they safe for the whole family? Well there have always been questions about hygiene and spas, but most of these have been unfounded, and indeed a home spa is far more likely to be safe then one running in a commercial spa that is being used by a large number of people, many of whom will have gone in straight from an oily massage or covered in sun protection. Monitoring of the water in your spa is a simple process that can be undertaken weeky and maintaining the right level of chemical balance is simple and safe. Other safety issues like suitablilty for young children require the application of the same levels of care and common sense that you might attach to simming pools, ponds and even the beach. That said, the spas come in a varity of formats that include raised seats and deeper seat, loungers and even boosters for small children.

Spas also offer great health benefits – from simple relaxation and de-stressing to improved circulation and water based exercise opportunities that can prove beneficial for people suffering from athritis and rheumatic conditions. In fact the ubiquitous Mr Jacuzzi originally devised his spa bath as a therapy product and not a leisure product.

Splash out!
Who wouldn’t want one if it were at all posible? Well of course there are questions that need to be answered. Can you afford one? Do you have room for one? Even if you have the room, is it possible to fit one in your home or garden? Kingdom Spas are quick to answer. Their first response is that they have worked hard to become a trusted and responsible supplier, one that will give you the right advice and one that will not sell you a product that is unsuitable for your circumstances. Since they started to operate they have held high those principles, and the feedback that they receive is testament to the fact they they live up to that promise of honesty and integrity.
Access can of course be an issue as the tubs can be rather large but there are always options, although some may carry an extra charge.

Getting started
So where do you start? Well, a visit to their showroom is essential. There you can view a range of products and, should you decided to go ahead, they can even arrange a wet trial of a model for you. Secondly they will arrange a site visit to assess the feasabilty of installation. Installation and basic delivery of the product is included in the price that they quote. If access is not simple it may carry a further charge. Clients are responsible for providing the electrical supply and surprisingly there is no need for a tub to be connected to mains water or drainage, and no, the water when emptied will not affect a lawn or plants.

In the swim
As well as hot tubs Kingdom Spas also supply Swim Spas, an innovative solution for those who love to swim for exercise but do not have the space for a conventional pool. The Swim Spa is a plunge pool in which you swim against a variable current giving you the full benefit of water exercise in a more economical space.
If your appetite for a home spa has been whetted we completely understand – we want one too. You can install them indoors, on patios, in your garden… If you are planning a new build you can even specify one as part of that build. That splash of luxury need not be a pipe dream but a totally acheivable reality.

Satisfaction!

“Quick message to let you know we are very impressed by your efficient, friendly service and excellent product knowledge.

As previous spa owners we know exactly what we want in a spa – smallish but spacious enough for about four people, as we like to spread out, very well-insulated and as economical as possible.

Prior to visiting you we had done our research online and visited a few places but were only offered the choice of vast spas or two-seater tubs. You immediately rose to the challenge of getting the best spa for us. We are both impressed and delighted with our Kauai Coast Spa.

And the grandchildren, like us, think it’s great! Thank you for being very flexible about delivery and subsequent installation when our building works were completed. That really made life a lot easier for us.

We think you are a quality business in whom we have every confidence and trust.
We wish you every success.
Many thanks.”

“Just to thank you for your quick and efficient service in replacing the jets on my coast spa.

We have owned many spas over the years and my coast spa which we have had for 5 years has been the most trouble free out of all of them. We would not hesitate to buy another one when the time comes.
Thanks again for your prompt service”
Regards.
