Thinking of studying for an MBA? Then look no further than The Open University
Master of Business
In an article written for Business Week in 2008 Charles Handy said that you can’t learn management in a classroom. He claimed that “…the letters MBA should, if the schools were honest, stand for Master of Business Analysis.” However he was “particularly impressed” by The Open University Business School as the students are encouraged to relate theory to their situation which cements their learning in their own experience.
Teresa Bentley set up her own business after taking inspiration from an MBA from The Open University. “I was working in the city when I started my MBA but the MBA transformed my life and gave me a new direction and focus,” Teresa says. “I had already studied with the OU so I knew that distance learning worked for me but the OU MBA is far from being a mere correspondence course. There are opportunities to communicate with other students, meet at study groups, attend tutorials and residential schools and you get tremendous support from the tutors. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made and all thanks to the Open University.”
