Anything Goes

The great Cole Porter wrote these songs in 1934 and they still sound splendid today. You’ll find yourself humming the well known tunes as you leave, especially the title track, sung by the whole ensemble as they tap-dance their little hearts out. There’s no way of updating a 1930s screwball farce so you just have to hop on board and get carried away by this frothy confection, delivered at a zesty pace by the perky students of Chichester University. Matt Jones as gangster ‘Moonface Martin’ is a stand-out. He can even sell a number when confined by prison bars – now that’s talent.
