Competitions: Win Rio 2 Film merchandise
The city has inspired a Duran Duran song, a fruity soft drink and a computer-animated musical comedy based on a family of Blue Macaws. The film Rio was a bonafide blockbuster hit back in 2011; now Carlos Saldanha has directed a sequel, out in UK cinemas this Friday 4 April – in perfect time for the Easter holidays.
Like its predecessor, Rio 2 has a great soundtrack composed by John Powell. As before, the songs themselves are influenced by the sounds and styles of Brazilian music.
Featuring the voices of Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway and Jamie Foxx, the story sees Blu, Jewel and their family living a perfect domesticated life in the city – but they soon find themselves on an adventure in the wilds of the Amazon.
We have three sets of prizes to give away – including Rio 2 T-shirts, stickers and stationery.
